Introducing Park Plaza Living

As the new year begins, we will be embarking on a new communication platform entitled Park Plaza Living.  Each week, a different member of the Park Plaza family will post a reflection of what it means to work or live in Park Plaza.    We invite you to join us on this journey, as we share what makes Park Plaza such a special place.

As 2020 comes to a close, I think, as I always do at the end of the year, how is it already December?  This past year has been one like no other, in my lifetime.  With all the sickness and sadness now associated with 2020, many people could not wait for this year to be over.   While it might be easy to agree, I tried to remind everyone to focus on the positive things that have happened in our lives.

One positive thing I love about Park Plaza is the feeling of being part of a larger, extended family, where we celebrate all our families smachot together.  As we locked down, quarantined and saw our families less, we all tried to relish in the positive, good things that happened in our lives during this time.  We celebrated Bnei Mitzvah, graduations, weddings, and the birth of grandchildren and great grandchildren.   We learned how to video call and facilitated many family visits through Zoom, Facetime and Skype.   The one thing I, and all the staff, never took for granted was that we could come to work every day and interact with the residents and serve as their surrogate families through this very difficult time.

That is what Park Plaza offers – a family environment – especially when you cannot be with your personal family.

Wishing you continued good health,

Elly Bauman
