Below are some of the questions we hear most often from prospective residents and their families.
I’m not ready for assisted living. I still have plenty of vitality. But I’d like peace of mind that someone will look out for me when family isn’t around. What does Park Plaza Senior Living offer?
At Park Plaza Senior Living, residents gain everything and lose nothing. We are an independent senior living rental community with optional third-party assistance available. On-site staff from a third-party caregiver agency can be hired on an as-needed basis – a few hours a day or a few hours a week, whatever fits your life. Additional on-site third-party providers offer physical, occupational, and speech therapy and primary medical care. On top of that, residents stay active in current interests and discover new ones, with unlimited programming access 365 days a year, on-site cultural events, engaging activities, interesting outings, and casual neighborly get-togethers.
How do I make arrangements for doctor’s appointments, shopping trips, and outings?
Park Plaza Senior Living offers complimentary transportation for medical visits, shopping, and activities within a four-mile radius, five days a week. Residents simply sign up at the front desk.
I’ve researched other retirement communities in the area, and many require a buy-in or charge a monthly rent that wouldn’t fit my fixed income. How is Park Plaza Senior Living different?
Because we are operated by Northwest Home for Aged, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 1943, we are blessed with a legacy of generous philanthropic giving. That heritage allows us to provide unmatched accommodations and services for Jewish seniors at price points designed with real budgets in mind.
I want to take advantage of your on-site dining, but I’m particular about my food. What can I expect?
Residents can enjoy favorites such as crisp, colorful salads, fresh vegetables, and premium meats, including chicken, prime rib, veal, lamb chops, steaks, brisket, and salmon. Our chefs use the freshest ingredients, and our dining staff works hard to learn each resident’s preferences. We serve two meals a day, seven days a week, with specialty menus prepared on site for every Jewish and U.S. holiday.
I need to know I’ll be safe. What does Park Plaza Senior Living do to ensure security?
Take comfort in knowing your loved ones are safe and secure. Our front desk is monitored 24/7/365, and our staff is trained to act as real-time responders in any emergency. Residents and families enjoy peace of mind knowing they can live independently yet always have immediate help within reach.
How does Park Plaza Senior Living honor Jewish life and observance?
Park Plaza Senior Living is designed with Jewish seniors in mind. We have a beautiful on-site synagogue with daily services, a full-time Rabbi for personal prayer and pastoral counsel, weekly Shabbat and Havdalah celebrations, high-holiday services, and a Shabbos elevator. Holidays are a special time at Park Plaza Senior Living, with music, decorations, dancing, and traditional foods, and residents’ families are warmly invited to join.
What therapy and healthcare services are available on site?
Park Plaza Senior Living partners with FOX Rehabilitation to offer one-on-one physical, occupational, and speech therapy in our on-site Wellness Center, with an outpatient clinic open to the broader community. Through Entera Healthcare, residents can also access In-Home Care services – skilled nursing, therapy, and behavioral health – delivered right inside their apartment, often covered by insurance. Both partners are third-party organizations; Park Plaza Senior Living has no direct relationship with the organizations and does not direct or control the services they provide.
